CAFS participates in UPRHS’ College Fair
The College of Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS) through its academic units participated as booth presenters in the College Fair of the UP Rural High School (UPRHS) last 25 January.
The event aimed to guide students in creating a clear and purposeful career roadmap and to enhance their understanding of various career paths and skills needed to achieve their goals.
The College consisted of the different units showcased their works. The Institute of Animal Science (IAS) displayed technologies that included different breeds of duck and chicken and a demo on artificial insemination of chicken. Edible landscaping technology and rice varietal improvement project and provision of promotional items were shown by Institute of Crop Science (ICropS). The Institute of Weed Science, Entomology and Plant Pathology (IWEP) displayed their framed samples of friendly insects for crops and weeds that can be converted into different uses like bags and slippers. Meanwhile, the Agricultural Systems Institute (ASI) and the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST) exhibited posters and relevant brochures and course catalogs.
Also present during the College Fair was Dr. Christine B. Adiova, CAFS associate dean for instruction who interacted and engaged with the students regarding CAFS academic programs.
